Waffles ... hmmmmm.
Hands up if you´re guilthy like me - one whom cannot resist a good piece of
waffle. Waffle to me is childhood food, snacking on a piece in between
shopping session with my parents when I was young. Waffle to me is also
hanging around A&W with my girly friends during teenage years while trying to
get the attention of the cute boy seated right across us! So you can say that
waffle sums up all the happy memories I have.
Last weekend was Easter weekend here. Hubby was off work from Thursday
itself (Green Thursday) till Monday - which was a replacement holiday for Sunday.
We had four days at hand, with no plans but that worked out just fine. It has
been a while since we took things as it comes. The kitchen and garden project
took us forever to finish but alas, its all behind us now and all we need to do is,
enjoy them. During the span of four days at home, we cooked and rested a lot
infront of our TV and occassionally on our balcony. The sun is back! And what
else is more perfect to be enjoyed if not with these ... Vanilla Bean Waffle :-P
Here´s the step to making this wonderful waffle recipe.
1) Preheat a waffle iron and oil it properly.
2) Sift 175gram flour, 10 grams sugar, a pinch of salt and 2 teaspoon of baking
powder into a deep bowl and make a well in the centre.
3) Add in vanilla seed from one vanilla pod.
4) Mix 350 grams warm milk and 50 grams melted butter, then whisk in 2 egg
Pour the milky mixture into the well of the flour and stir together to form a
batter.
5) Pour a 75ml ladle of batter on to the waffle iron and cook for 3-4 minutes,
until crisp and golden.
6) Serve with icing sugar sprinkle or summer fruit sauces as desire.
Enjoy :-D
